Acupunture

Acupuncture can have profound effects at reducing pain and inflammation as well as treating muscle tension.  Physiotherapists at Nose Creek Sport Physical Therapy practice anatomical acupuncture which involves the insertion of acupuncture needles in traditional acupuncture points to effect mechanical or physiological effects at the injured area.  Acupuncture can also involve intramuscular stimulation or dry-needling which is specific treatment to tight muscles not following traditional acupuncture points.

Your physiotherapist may suggest that acupuncture or dry needling is appropriate for your injury.  Also you may ask your physiotherapist if it would be beneficial.  When acupuncture is used as a part of your physiotherapy treatment it is performed by a physiotherapist and is included as part of your treatment.  There is no additional cost for acupuncture.
